Bali Tourism Board starts today a specific
workshop on European Tourism with trainers coming from UK and Germany . The workshop is aimed at
developing the understanding of the Bali hotel operators and excursion
operators about the characteristic of the European market and the
identification of consumer demands in the European market which is the largest
tourist source for Bali .
The two trainers are Clive Bishop from the United Kingdom and Wolfgang Coym from Germany , both are Experts from CBI, the Centre
for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries based in Rotterdam , The
Netherlands. \"World Tourism Organisation predicts 164 million long haul
tourists from Europe by 2020 and there is an
increase of this going to developing countries,\" said Wolfgang Coym, one
of the Experts.
The leading tourist source for Bali, Europe still has
potential for development and the understanding of this market is the key to
its growing the number of European tourist arrivals in Bali .
\"Bali Tourism Board partners CBI because of the
extensive knowledge from the CBI Experts who can share their hands-on
experience directly to the tourism professionals in Bali ,\"
said Ngurah Wijaya, the chairman of Bali Tourism Board. There are 23
participants for the workshop who are coming from 16 companies. These are all
small medium companies with a maximum of 50 staff who are eager to enter the
European market. Majority of these Balinese companies are environmentally
friendly which answers to the increasing demand of the European tourists.
From the workshop, the Bali small medium tourism companies
hope to gain access to the European market, able to identify their target
clients, able to define their strengths and weaknesses and then recognize the structure
of each country specifics within the European Union because of the difference
of the German tourist demands to UK tourist, to French and the rest of the other
European countries.
Bali Tourism Board is the umbrella organisation of tourism
associations in Bali, namely the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Travel Agent
Association, Tour Guide Association, Conference Organiser Association, Tourism
Attraction Association, Tourism Transportation Association, Water Sports
Association, Pacific Asia Tourism Association and the Tourism Promotion
